Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a gentle manual therapy specializing in treatment of the body as a whole. Treatments includes: muscles & soft tissue therapy, cranial-sacral therapy, visceral/organ manipulation, osteoarticular adjustments, and much more.

Osteopathy can be use to treat: stress & anxiety, digestive problems, concussions, low back pain & sciatica, and much more.

Candace received her Diploma of Osteopathic Manual Practice (D.O.M.P.) and her Diploma in the Science of Osteopathy (D.Sc.O.) from the Canadian College of Osteopathy in Toronto, ON, in 2015 after five years of study plus a research thesis and defense. Her thesis focused on a specific cranial technique and examined the effects it had on physiological factors involved in stress and immunity as measured by bloodwork.

Prior to this she received her Registered Massage Therapy license in Ontario in 2009, and a university degree in Philosophy with a minor in Science from the University of Waterloo in 2006.

Candace understands how the body and the individual respond to the physical and emotional demands of stress, everyday life, and injury. Her understanding has developed, and deepened, through her own personal experiences with osteopathic treatment, as well as the individualized care she has provided her patients with passion, empathy and presence. Utilizing her extremely in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology, in addition to her refined sense of touch and powerful intuition, Candace artfully aligns and rebalances the body by gently working with every system, including bones, soft tissues and ligaments, the nervous system, vascular system, and various organs of the body. She works with everyone from newborns to adults, addressing a variety of health concerns ranging from headaches and low back pain to digestive problems, chronic ear infections, immune system dysfunction, anxiety and depression, and much more. The youngest person she has treated was 5 days old!

Candace also works with patients who are dealing with concussion from a variety of causes, and has attended courses in Montreal, Quebec, to learn how to treat the specific physical and emotional complaints concussions have on the individual.

Candace believes in educating her patients about what is happening within their body, the link this has with their overall health status, and makes referrals to respected practitioners of other healthcare fields based on patient needs and presentation. Through this multi-disciplinary approach, her patients have consistently improved their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health, as well as understand their body, and self, on a deeper level.

In her spare time Candace enjoys yoga, hip hop dancing, running, reading, travelling, watching health documentaries, and laughing with friends.
